Treating Spider Veins

Unless an underlying case of venous reflux is identified, spider veins are treated using sclerotherapy. This is a procedure where medicine is injected into the vein, making them shrink. The body will then absorb the tissue.

Sclerotherapy treatments are not typically covered by insurance. There is a fee for each injection, however the doctor can often eliminate several veins in a single injection.
